Accessibility Statement
We pride ourselves on always offering top customer service and we strive to ensure that all our guests enjoy our wonderful accommodation and facilities. Our aim is to help in any way that we can. Should you require assistance during your stay or whilst planning your visit, we will be delighted to assist.
Pre-Arrival:
• We cater for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, and have holiday caravans and lodges available for hire.
• Our nearest town is Dartmouth and is served by a bus stop which is located outside of the site. Bus timetables are available in Reception. Our nearest train station is Totnes which is 13 miles away.
• Our nearest shop mobility is Victoria Car Park, Garfield Road, Paignton, Tel: 01803 521771 or Pluss Organisation Ltd, Waddeton Close, Brixham Road. Paignton, Tel: 01803 520386.
• The following taxi companies offer wheelchair-access transport and can be reached on Tel: 01803 559292 and 07435 786542– both companies require notice.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities:
• On entering the site through the main entrance you will go down the tarmacked road for 60 metres and then you will see a sign to turn left to reception. You carry on this road for 150 metres and then you will arrive at the main gravelled car park.
• The tarmac roadway to reception measures 3 metres wide with kerbs either side.
• We have parking spaces outside Reception for those who have difficulty walking.
Reception/Shop:
• A number of staff have attended a ‘Welcome’ courses including `Welcome All`.
• There are two doors, both measuring 812mm.
• Reception provides room for a wheelchair to manoeuvre and turn.
• Reception counter is 109 cm in height.
• The opening times of Reception are displayed on the entrance door along with 24-hour contact details.
• The shop is in Reception.
• There is limited parking outside of the reception/shop.
• The reception/shop is on one level.
• Information leaflets are on the wall; staff will always be in the shop to help with higher level pockets.
• The staff will assist with your needs if required.
Public Areas - General (External):
• Tarmac roads service most of the park along with gravel parking areas.
• Leonards Cove is situated on a hilly area, where there are some steep inclines.
• Majority of the holiday park overlooks the sea. Because of this, some paths and walkways may be steep.
Restaurant & Bar:
• The Restaurant is on the level and accessed through a single door of a width of 0.88 metres.
• The Bar/Restaurant area has a wooden floor with tables and chairs that can be removed, there is a ramp between the bar area which is 0.97 metres wide.
• Chairs and tables can be moved on request.
• Important notice that the restaurant is housed in a listing building, the toilets are accessed via a staircase of 13 steps of 0.74 metres width and a sturdy handrail.
• Restaurant toilets are exceptionally small and will NOT take a wheelchair.
• There are baby changing facilities in one of the toilets.
Laundry:
• The laundry is located near to the restaurant. The main laundry door is 74cm wide and there are 2 small steps.
• The light switch is to the right as you enter, under a cover.
• Assistance can be given during reception opening hours.
• All machines are front loading. The driers are stacked on top of the washing machines, at a higher level. Our team will be happy to help reach the higher machines if required.
• All ironing boards can be height adjusted.
• There is limited parking outside of the laundry room.
Outdoor Facilities:
• There is a designated recreation area opposite the camping field.
• There are several benches around the park.
Holiday Self Catering Accommodation:
• Many statics caravans have three steps leading up to the main door and handrail.
• Accommodations range from one bedroom to three bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 people. The Farmhouse can sleep up to 10 people.
• Parking for caravans is available in the main car park (please see site map). You cannot drive right up to the caravans; they are accessed on foot by a gravel path running behind them. You may park in the unloading area outside the caravans to unpack only.
• Mayflower 1 is the only caravan with designated parking outside.
• Parking for Bayview Chalets is available in the main car park (please see site map). You may park in the unloading area outside the Bayviews to unpack only. You cannot drive right up to the Bayview chalets; they are accessed by a path running in front of them.
• There is disabled parking outside Bayview 1 if needed.
• All Clifftop Lodges, both Ocean View Lodges, Pound Cottage, Pound Loft, Mayflower Van 1 and the Farmhouse have their own designated parking outside the accommodation.
• We have some accessible lodges with a ramp to the main door designed for wheelchair use. These lodges also have their own car parking space outside.
• We also have three-bedroom timber lodges. One lodge has three steps leading into the main front door.
• Some lodges have a further few steps along a path leading from the road.
• Please note, all accommodation is non-smoking. Please note that we do have accommodation that is more accessible than others, please call or email us directly and we can advise you.
Holiday Camping and Touring:
• There is one camping field for tents and it accommodates up to 22 pitches.
• As you come through the main entrance the field is on the left-hand side.
• The field is laid to grass and is on a slope. There are a few flat pitches.
• Cars are not allowed to park on the field.
• Cars can park behind the fence at the bottom of the field and to the side. The furthest to walk would be 50 metres.
• Please note the toilet facilities are not accessible via a wheelchair. There are 2 steps up to each portakabin.
• The Touring field is near to Reception, and it is all laid to grass. Not ALL pitches are flat, but chocks are available if needed.
• The toilet facilities are sited on the camping field which is 75 metres from the touring field. Please note there is a 10 metre incline.
• Staff will agree a pitch with the customer.
• The staff will assist with your needs if required.
Local Attractions:
• We have a wide variety of information in our Reception area.
• Our staff have a good knowledge of the local area so feel to ask for any advice!
Grounds & Gardens:
• To be able to have our amazing views the park is terraced towards the cliff edge; this means the topography of the park is steep in parts. The distance from the park to the nearby beach of Blackpool Sands is approximately 0.5 miles. The park is situated on a hill.
